Technoquest – A Congregation of Technical Minds – was organised at M M Modi College, Patiala. It was a state level festival of Technical Education and Information Technology. 370 students from 14 technical educational institutions including Punjabi University, Patiala and Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh participated in it.
While inaugurating the event, Dr. Seema Bawa, Dean Student Affairs, Thapar University, Patiala, laid stress on the practical relevance of such technical events in the modern technology oriented world. She also strongly urged the students to work diligently to achieve success in this competitive era.
Welcoming the guests and the participants, Dr. S. K. Bhardwaj, Principal of the college stated that this ‘Congregation of Technical Minds’ has become a tradition with the college. He further informed that inspired by the overwhelming response of the participants, the number of competitions has been extended from six to eight.
Janab Mujtaba Hussain from the Punjabi University, Patiala gave a captivating performance in flute playing during the inaugural session. Sh. Jaidev of Patiala Gharana accompanied him on Tabla.

In the Power Point Presentation Shavi of Modi College bagged first position, Shubhra Chakarborty and Saudin Chakarborty of Vidya Sagar College, Patiala got second and third positions.
In ‘Test Your Skills in C’ Deepak Kumar of Desh Bhagat University got first position, Kulwant Singh of Public College, Samana got second and Hemant Kumar from Ranbir College, Sangrur got third position. Whereas Rimpy and Pancham Singh got consolation prizes.
In the event of Web Designing, Deepak Anand and Deepak Kumar of Desh Bhagat University bagged first position, Harpreet and Hardeep Kaur of Asra College got second and Pardeep Singh and Jagdeep Sangar of Bikram College, Patiala got third position.
In the Paper Presentation Competition Mehak Hans of Vidya Sagar College got 1st position, Jyoti Batish of Desh Bhagat University got second and Amritpal Kaur of Ranbir College, Sangrur got third position.
In the Poster Making Competition Milan and Shivangi of Bikram College, Patiala bagged first position and Parnavreet from Vidya Sagar College got the 2nd position.
In IT Quiz Vidya Sagar College bagged 1st position, Govt. Ranbir College Sangrur got the Second position and Modi College got third position.
In Ad-Mad Show Modi College Team won the 1st prize, Asra College Team won the second prize.
In Business Quiz Modi College Team ‘Ambanis’ won 1st prize, Bikram College Team ‘Birlas’ got second prize, Vidya Sagar College Team ‘Tatas’ got third position.
The principal of the College Dr. Satish Bhardwaj gave away the prizes to the winners. He also felicitated the Chief Guest and the Judges by giving them mementoes. This event was successfully organized under the supervision of Prof. (Mrs.) Poonam Malhotra. Prof. Neeraj Goyal, Prof. Vinay Garg, Prof. Ajit Kumar, Prof. Ganesh Sethi, Prof. Harmohan Sharma and other teachers played key role in the organization of the event. Ms. Ribha Singla conducted the stage.
