Achievers felicitated at Multani Mal Modi College

Annual Prize Distribution Function was held at M. M. Modi College where S. Surjit Singh Rakhra, Hon’ble Minister, Higher Education and Languages, Water Supply and Sanitation, Govt. of Punjab addressed the students and honoured them with Rolls of Honour, College Colours and Merit Certificates. He lauded the achievements of the students in the field of academics, sports and co-curricular activities. He also appreciated the efforts of the college for maintaining high standards of performance and hoped that the same level of enthusiasm and sincerity will be maintained in the years to come. He urged upon the students to work diligently, dream big and take initiatives. With these three qualities, success in every walk of life will be within your reach.

Earlier while welcoming the Chief Guest and presenting his annual report Dr. Khushvinder Kumar, Principal of the College informed that the college was ranked as 3rd Best College for Commerce Stream among the selected Six Colleges of Northern India by The Tribune in its Guide to Best Colleges published a few days ago. He congratulated the award winners and promised all help for them in future also.

          Sh. Jaswinder Singh Cheema, Sh. Surjeet Singh Ablowal and Sh. Jaspal Singh Kalyan were honoured as the guests of honour on the occasion. The College Management also appreciated scholarship schemes for deserving students by ‘Sarbat Da Bhalla Trust’ whose representative Sh. M. L. Hasija and Sh. Prabhleen Singh were felicitated on the occasion.

          Dr. Harcharan Singh, Registrar of the college informed that 37 Rolls of Honour, 154 College Colours and 309 Merit certificates were awarded to the students. Manisha, Jyoti Rani, Amanpreet Kaur, Kimiya Gupta, Sharuti Sood, Kajal Rani, Pawanpreet Kaur and Loveena Goyal were awarded the Roll of Honour for standing first in the Punjabi University Examinations. Himanshu Gupta was honoured with Roll of Honour for his international achievements in Folk Dance performances.

          Angadvir Singh Bajwa (Shot Gun), Neelam Rani (Fencing), Rajveer Singh (Cycling) were honoured for their excellent performance in Sports at International level. 24 sportspersons of the college won gold and silver medals at the National level. The coaches of various sports were also felicitated on the function.

          Representatives of the College Management Colonel (Retd.) Karminder Singh and Sh. Surindra Lal were also present on the stage.

          Former Principal Sh. O. P. Dhiman, Principal Amarjit Kaur Ghagga, retired teachers, employees and the parents of the students were also present on this occasion.
