Modi college students adjudged best at District level Declamation contest held at Nehru Yuva Kendra, Patiala
 
Multani Mal Modi college students Adhiraj of B.A. Ist year and Nishtha Goyal of BSc-IIIrd year (Med) bagged the first and second positions respectively in the District Level Declamation Contest-2018 organised by the Nehru Yuva Kendra, Patiala. Nehru Yuva Kendra is an autonomous body under the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and the contest was organised at Sahibzada Ajit Singh hostel, Patiala on 14th Nov., 2018.
Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar, congratulated the winning students for their distinguished achievement. He appreciated the efforts put in by the teacher incharge Dr. Baljinder Kaur and her team for the continued triumphant performances of students at various competitions. He also commended the team of NSS volunteers led by Prof. Jagdeep Kaur, College NSS program officer, who were instrumental in co-ordinating with Nehru Yuva Kendra, Patiala and organising the block level screening contest held previously in the college.
There were twenty five participants, selected from various blocks in District Patiala, who spoke on the topic ‘Patriotism and Nation Building’. By virtue of this win, Adhiraj now will represent the district in the State level contest to be followed by the National level competition in New Delhi.
S. Preetam Singh Sodhi, Sh. S. C. Sharma and Col. Bishan Dass, judges for contest and Harmandeep Aulakh, District Coordinator, gave away the awards to the winners after the contest. Adhiraj and Nishtha were awarded with the certificates along with cash prizes of Rs 5,000 and Rs 2,000 respectively.
