ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿਖੇ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ‘ਮਾਤ-ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਦਿਵਸ’
ਸਥਾਨਕ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਪੋਸਟ-ਗ੍ਰੈਜੂਏਟ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਦੇ ਮਾਣ-ਮੱਤੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਪ੍ਰੰਪਰਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ‘ਕੌਮਾਂਤਰੀ ਮਾਤ-ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਦਿਵਸ’ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਲੈਫਟੀਨੈਂਟ ਕਰਨਲ ਵਜੋਂ ਸੇਵਾ ਨਿਭਾ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਅਕਾਦਮੀ ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰ ਵਿਜੇਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਸਾਹਿਤਕਾਰ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਜਸਬੀਰ ਭੁੱਲਰ ਨੇ ‘ਮਾਤ-ਭਾਸ਼ਾ: ਸ਼ਖ਼ਸੀਅਤ, ਸਾਹਿਤ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜ’ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ‘ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਕੀਤੇ।
ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਦਿਨੀਂ ਪੁਲਵਾਮਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਹੋਏ ਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਮਿੰਟ ਦਾ ਮੋਨ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਰਧਾਂਜਲੀ ਅਰਪਿਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਵਾਨ-ਵਕਤਾ ਦਾ ਰਸਮੀ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਤ-ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਦਿਵਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਭ ਨਾਲ ਵਧਾਈਆਂ ਸਾਂਝੀਆਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਦੀ ਸਜੀਵਤਾ ਦਾ ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਜੋਕੇ ਤਕਨੀਕੀ ਦੌਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੇਸ਼ੱਕ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਗ ਬਦਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਮਰਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਸਾਹਿਤਕਾਰ ਬਲਰਾਜ ਸਾਹਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਸੋਬਤੀ ਦਾ ਹਵਾਲਾ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਵਿਚਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਿਰਜਣਾ ਮਾਂ ਬੋਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਸਾਰਥਕ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਰਗਰ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਕੇਵਲ ਸ਼ਬਦੀ ਪੈਟਰਨ ਸਮਝਣ ਦੀ ਬਜਾਏ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੁਪਤ ਲੋਕ ਸਮੂਹ ਦੇ ਸਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਮੁਹਾਂਦਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਪਛਾਣਨ ‘ਤੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਪੋਸਟ-ਗ੍ਰੈਜੂਏਟ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਡਾ. ਗੁਰਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧੂ ਨੇ ਮੁੱਖ-ਵਕਤਾ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਜਸਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਭੁੱਲਰ ਦੇ ਫੌਜੀ ਜੀਵਨ, ਰਚਨਾ-ਸੰਸਾਰ, ਸੰਵੇਦਨਸ਼ੀਲ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ, ਸਾਹਿਤਕ ਸਰੋਕਾਰ, ਲਿਖਣ ਸ਼ੈਲੀ, ਕਲਾ ਜਗਤ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਣ-ਸਣਮਾਨ ਵਰਗੇ ਪੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਰੋਤਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝਾ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਬਹੁ-ਵਿਧਾਈ ਲੇਖਕ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਜਸਬੀਰ ਭੁੱਲਰ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਫੌਜੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਹਿਤਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਮਾਂ-ਬੋਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਖ਼ਸੀਅਤ ਦੀ ਉਸਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਮੂਲ ਬੁਨਿਆਦ ਮੰਨਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਚਨਾਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਦੇ ਸਮਾਨਾਂਤਰ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਭਾਵਾਂ, ਮਾਨਵੀ ਸੰਵੇਦਨਾ, ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇ, ਅਤੇ ਮਾਨਵੀ ਮੁੱਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਾਖੀ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਰਚਨਾਵਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਕਲਾਤਮਕਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਹਿਤ, ਸਮਾਜ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਖ਼ਸ਼ੀਅਤ ਦੇ ਅੰਤਰ-ਸਬੰਧਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮਾਂ-ਬੋਲੀ ਚੰਗੇ ਮਾਨਵੀ ਸਰੋਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੀਜ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਚਪਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੀਜਦੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਇੱਕ ਸ਼ਖ਼ਸੀਅਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੰਵੇਦਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਰੂਪੀ ਪੌਦੇ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਧਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਹੀ ਪੌਦਾ ਗਿਆਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਨਾਲ ਸਿੰਜਦਿਆਂ ਇੱਕ ਆਦਰਸ਼ਕ ਸਮਾਜ ਸਿਰਜਣਾ ਦੇ ਫਲ਼ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਾਹਿਤ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਭਨਾ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਗੋਭਾ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਸਮਾਜ ਨੂੰ ਉਸਾਰੂ ਸੇਧ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਵਿਦਵਾਨ-ਵਕਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਦਾ ਮਤਾ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਡਾ. ਮਨਜੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ। ਸਟੇਜ ਸਕੱਤਰ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਡਾ. ਦਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਬਾਖ਼ੂਬੀ ਨਿਭਾਈ। ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਡਾ. ਸੁਖਦੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ, ਡਾ. ਰੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਸਨ।

Modi College Celebrates ‘Mother Language Day’
To mark the glorious traditions and cultural significance of Punjabi language, Postgraduate department of Punjabi at Multani Mal Modi college today celebrated “Mother-language day”. Shri Jasbir Bhullar, Ex-Lieutenant Colonel (Indian Army) and winner of Sahitya Academy award delivered a lecture on the topic “Mother tongue: Personality, literature and society”
The college paid obeisance to the CRPF armymen martyred in Pulwama terror attack by observing ‘one-minute silence’ before the lecture.
College principal Dr. Khushvinder kumar welcomed the chief guest and congratulated staff members and students for mother-language day. He said that words are immortal. With the technological advancements in the contemporary era, the context and usage of languages are changing but their relevance and utility is forever. Remembering Rabindra Nath Tagore, Krishna Sobti and Balraj Sahni, he emphasized that mother language is the fundamental source of learning. He advised that instead of understanding only the patterns of words, it is important to engage with their philosophical, cultural and social underpinnings. Dr Gurdeep Singh Sandhu formally introduced Shri Jasbir Bhullar and discussed various books penned by him highlighting his vision about army life, his sensibilities as a writer, his writing style and social concerns of his literature.
Shri Jasbir Bhullar congratulated the college for organizing this programme and said that mother language is the foundation of growth and development of a sensitive and responsible human being. Comparing a writer with a soldier, he explained how a writer depicts his/her emotions, feelings, dreams, relationships and values in his/her works to infuse life with beauty and truth. Mother language is like a seed which gives birth to a sensitive and thoughtful human being to nurture him/her with knowledge and experiences.
Dr. Devinder Singh, Assistant Professor, Punjabi department conducted the stage and vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Manjit kaur, Associate Professor, Punjabi department. The speaker was felicitated with a memento. All the staff members and students were present on the occasion.

ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਦਿਨੀਂ ਪੁਲਵਾਮਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਹੋਏ ਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਮਿੰਟ ਦਾ ਮੋਨ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਰਧਾਂਜਲੀ ਅਰਪਿਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ।

ਪੋਸਟ-ਗ੍ਰੈਜੂਏਟ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਡਾ. ਗੁਰਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧੂ ਨੇ ਮੁੱਖ-ਵਕਤਾ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਜਸਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਭੁੱਲਰ ਦੇ ਫੌਜੀ ਜੀਵਨ, ਰਚਨਾ-ਸੰਸਾਰ, ਸੰਵੇਦਨਸ਼ੀਲ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ, ਸਾਹਿਤਕ ਸਰੋਕਾਰ, ਲਿਖਣ ਸ਼ੈਲੀ, ਕਲਾ ਜਗਤ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਣ-ਸਣਮਾਨ ਵਰਗੇ ਪੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਰੋਤਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝਾ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਬਹੁ-ਵਿਧਾਈ ਲੇਖਕ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਜਸਬੀਰ ਭੁੱਲਰ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਫੌਜੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਹਿਤਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਮਾਂ-ਬੋਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਖ਼ਸੀਅਤ ਦੀ ਉਸਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਮੂਲ ਬੁਨਿਆਦ ਮੰਨਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਚਨਾਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਦੇ ਸਮਾਨਾਂਤਰ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਭਾਵਾਂ, ਮਾਨਵੀ ਸੰਵੇਦਨਾ, ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇ, ਅਤੇ ਮਾਨਵੀ ਮੁੱਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਾਖੀ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਰਚਨਾਵਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਕਲਾਤਮਕਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਹਿਤ, ਸਮਾਜ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਖ਼ਸ਼ੀਅਤ ਦੇ ਅੰਤਰ-ਸਬੰਧਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮਾਂ-ਬੋਲੀ ਚੰਗੇ ਮਾਨਵੀ ਸਰੋਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੀਜ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਚਪਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੀਜਦੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਇੱਕ ਸ਼ਖ਼ਸੀਅਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੰਵੇਦਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਰੂਪੀ ਪੌਦੇ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਧਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਹੀ ਪੌਦਾ ਗਿਆਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਨਾਲ ਸਿੰਜਦਿਆਂ ਇੱਕ ਆਦਰਸ਼ਕ ਸਮਾਜ ਸਿਰਜਣਾ ਦੇ ਫਲ਼ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਾਹਿਤ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਭਨਾ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਗੋਭਾ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਸਮਾਜ ਨੂੰ ਉਸਾਰੂ ਸੇਧ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ।

Modi College Celebrates ‘Mother Language Day’
To mark the glorious traditions and cultural significance of Punjabi language, Postgraduate department of Punjabi at Multani Mal Modi college today celebrated “Mother-language day”. Shri Jasbir Bhullar, Ex-Lieutenant Colonel (Indian Army) and winner of Sahitya Academy award delivered a lecture on the topic “Mother tongue: Personality, literature and society”
The college paid obeisance to the CRPF armymen martyred in Pulwama terror attack by observing ‘one-minute silence’ before the lecture.
College principal Dr. Khushvinder kumar welcomed the chief guest and congratulated staff members and students for mother-language day. He said that words are immortal. With the technological advancements in the contemporary era, the context and usage of languages are changing but their relevance and utility is forever. Remembering Rabindra Nath Tagore, Krishna Sobti and Balraj Sahni, he emphasized that mother language is the fundamental source of learning. He advised that instead of understanding only the patterns of words, it is important to engage with their philosophical, cultural and social underpinnings. Dr Gurdeep Singh Sandhu formally introduced Shri Jasbir Bhullar and discussed various books penned by him highlighting his vision about army life, his sensibilities as a writer, his writing style and social concerns of his literature.
Shri Jasbir Bhullar congratulated the college for organizing this programme and said that mother language is the foundation of growth and development of a sensitive and responsible human being. Comparing a writer with a soldier, he explained how a writer depicts his/her emotions, feelings, dreams, relationships and values in his/her works to infuse life with beauty and truth. Mother language is like a seed which gives birth to a sensitive and thoughtful human being to nurture him/her with knowledge and experiences.
Dr. Devinder Singh, Assistant Professor, Punjabi department conducted the stage and vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Manjit kaur, Associate Professor, Punjabi department. The speaker was felicitated with a memento. All the staff members and students were present on the occasion.
