Modi College students attended Four day Bharat Scouts and Guides Training Camp
The Bharat Scouts and Guides Training wing of Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala attended four day training under ‘Nipun Camp’ from 29th October to 1st November, 2019 at Scouts and Guides Training Centre, Taradevi, Shimla. This training camp was organized to equip the students with life-skills and knowledge, to enlighten the spirit of social service, to strengthen their moral foundations and to develop practical approach to face the challenges of life. College Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar while interacting with the students emphasized that such trainings are designed to help the students for developing their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials as individuals. In this camp 18 Rovers (Boys) and 31 Rangers (Girls) of the College participated under the mentorship of Dr. Rupinder Singh (Rover Incharge). Dr. Veenu Jain (Ranger Incharge) and Prof. Gurpreet Kaur (Assistant Ranger Incharge). They participated in different activities such as academic, training, cultural and parade.
During the camp under the guidance of Punjab State organizing Commissioner Sh. Onkar Singh, the trainers Sh. Darshan Singh Bareta and Sh. Jatinder Kumar discussed with the students the history of scout movement, international activities, and motto of the movement, the opportunities, different badge, the flag and the importance of various measurements used in the process. Students not only participated in adventurous games such as river crossing, archery, blind rope trip, rappelling etc. but also in prayers and spiritual gathering at the Tara Devi Mandir. Students were also encouraged for ‘Collective Cooking Camps’ and to collect the garbage from the area to clean the environment. Students participated in the cultural activities during the daily ‘camp fires’ such as dance, plays and poetry recitation. On the last day of the camp a sight-seeing trip of Shimla was also organized. All participants were awarded ‘Nipun Camp’ certificates.

ਬੀਤੇ ਦਿਨੀਂ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਸਕਾਊਟਸ ਐਂਡ ਗਾਈਡਜ਼ ਯੂਨਿਟ ਦੇ 49 ਸਕਾਊਟਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸਕਾਊਟਸ ਟ੍ਰੇਨਿੰਗ ਸੈਂਟਰ, ਤਾਰਾਦੇਵੀ (ਸ਼ਿਮਲਾ) ਵਿਖੇ 29 ਅਕਤੂਬਰ ਤੋਂ 1 ਨਵੰਬਰ, 2019 ਤੱਕ 4 ਰੋਜ਼ਾ ਨਿਪੁੰਨ ਕੈਂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਟ੍ਰੇਨਿੰਗ ਕੈਂਪ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਵ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਸਮੇਂ ਜੀਵਨ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਲਈ ਤਕਨੀਕੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਦੇਣਾ, ਸਮਾਜ ਸੇਵਾ ਦੀ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨਾ, ਖਤਰਿਆਂ ਸੰਗ ਜੂਝਣ ਦੀ ਹਿੰਮਤ ਜਗਾਉਣਾ, ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੁਨਰ ਨੂੰ ਤਰਾਸ਼ਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਵਹਾਰਿਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਯਮਬੱਧ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਊਣ ਦੀ ਆਦਤ ਪਾਉਣਾ ਸੀ। ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੈਂਪ ਲਈ ਰਵਾਨਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਕੈਂਪਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੰਤਵ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਰੀਰਕ, ਬੌਧਿਕ, ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਅਧਿਆਤਮਿਕ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਦਾ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ। ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਯੂਨਿਟ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਡਾ. ਰੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ (ਰੋਵਰ ਇੰਚਾਰਜ), ਡਾ. ਵੀਨੂ ਜੈਨ (ਰੇਂਜਰ ਇੰਚਾਰਜ) ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ (ਸਹਾਇਕ ਰੇਂਜਰ ਇੰਚਾਰਜ) ਦੀ ਅਗੁਵਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ 18 ਰੋਵਰਜ਼ (ਲੜਕੇ) ਅਤੇ 31 ਰੇਂਜਰਜ਼ (ਲੜਕੀਆਂ) ਨੇ ਕੈਂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ, ਵਿਹਾਰਕ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ, ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ, ਅਨੁਸਾਸ਼ਨ, ਪਰੇਡ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਆਦਿ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਭਾਰਤ ਸਕਾਊਟਸ ਐਂਡ ਗਾਈਡਜ਼, ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਸਟੇਟ ਆਰਗੇਨਾਈਜ਼ਿੰਗ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸ. ਓਂਕਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਨਾ ਤਹਿਤ ਟ੍ਰੇਨਿੰਗ ਅਫ਼ਸਰਾਂ; ਸ. ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਰੇਟਾ ਅਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਜਤਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੇ ਰੋਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਤਕਨੀਕੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਲਾਸਾਂ ਲਈਆਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁੱਖ ਤੌਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਕਾਊਟਸ ਦੀ ਸਥਾਪਨਾ ਦਾ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਪਿਛੋਕੜ, ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਪੱਧਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ, ਮੋਟੋ, ਸਕਾਊਟਸ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਲਾਹੇਵੰਦ ਮੌਕੇ, ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਬੈਜ, ਝੰਡੇ ਦੀ ਰਸਮ, ਝੰਡਾ ਗੀਤ, ਪ੍ਰਾਥਨਾ, ਰੋਪ ਨੋਟਿੰਗ, ਵਿਭਿੰਨ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੀਆਂ ਰੌਚਕ ਤੇ ਸੂਚਨਾਮਈ ਤਾੜੀਆਂ, ਗਿਣਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਲੰਬਾਈ ਅਧਾਰਿਤ ਵਿਸਲਾਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਪੱਖਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਚਾਨਣਾ ਪਾਇਆ। ਕੈਂਪ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਕਾਊਟਸ ਨੇ ਇੰਟਰਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਐਡਵੈਂਚਰ ਫਾਉਂਡੇਸ਼ਨ ਟੀਮ ਦੀ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਤਹਿਤ ਤੀਰ-ਅੰਦਾਜ਼ੀ, ਰੈਪਲਿੰਗ, ਜ਼ਿੱਪ ਲਾਈਨ ਰਿਵਰ ਕ੍ਰਾਸਿੰਗ, ਬਲਾਇੰਡ ਰੋਪ ਟ੍ਰਿਲ ਵਰਗੇ ਸਾਹਸੀ ਇਵੇਂਟਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਧ-ਚੱੜ ਕੇ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ। ਕੈਂਪ ਦੇ ਅਖੀਰਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਸਕਾਊਟਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਨਮੋਹਕ ਪਰ ਖ਼ਤਰਨਾਕ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਰਸਤਿਆਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਟ੍ਰੈਕਿੰਗ ਕਰਵਾਂਉਂਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਤਾਰਾ ਦੇਵੀ ਮੰਦਿਰ ਦੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਗਏ। ਵਾਪਸੀ ਮੌਕੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਪੈਟਰੋਲ (ਗਰੁੱਪ) ਵੱਲੋਂ ਜੰਗਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੱਕੜਾਂ ਇਕੱਠੀਆਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਟੀਮ ਵੱਜੋਂ ਕਾਰਜ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਹਿੱਤ ਚਾਹ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਂਬੱਧ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ ਵੀ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਟ੍ਰੈਕਿੰਗ ਮੌਕੇ ਸਕਾਊਟਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਪਲਾਸਟਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਗਜ਼ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਵਿਹਾਰਿਕ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁਦਰਤ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਰਜ਼ ਦਾ ਸਬੂਤ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਕਲਾ ਰੁਚੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਭਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਹਰੇਕ ਸ਼ਾਮ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਕੈਂਪ ਫਾਇਰ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਤਹਿਤ ਸਕਾਊਟਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਗੀਤ, ਵੈਸਟਰਨ ਡਾਂਸ, ਗਰੁੱਪ ਡਾਂਸ, ਭੰਗੜਾ, ਗਿੱਧਾ, ਸਕਿੱਟ, ਮਮਿਕਰੀ, ਕਾਵਿ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਦੀ ਕਲਾ ਮਈ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਾਰੀ ਵੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਅਖੀਰਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਰੇਂਜਰਜ਼ ਅਤੇ ਰੋਵਰਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਿਮਲਾ ਘੁਮਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਲਿਜਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਰਿੱਜ, ਚਰਚ, ਲੱਕੜ ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਅਰ ਸ਼ਿਮਲਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਆਕਰਸ਼ਨ ਰਹੇ। ਸਕਾਊਟਸ ਦੀ ਪਰਖ ਉਪਰੰਤ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਪੁੰਨ ਕੈਂਪ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣ-ਪੱਤਰ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ।
